Can I post flyers or signs in McFarlin Library?

Yes, but all signs must be pre-approved by a staff member of McFarlin Library before they are displayed.  A maximum of four (4) flyers or signs will be approved. We have two (2) bulletin boards on the Plaza Level and two (2) bulletin boards on the Mail Level. One (1) approved flyer or sign may be posted on each board.

Process for Approval: (For the four large bulletin boards in McFarlin)

  1. Flyers must fall into one, or more, of the following categories:

  • TU Clubs, TU Events, TU Job Postings

  • Student Election Postings – Candidate flyers may be posted two (2) weeks prior to a university sponsored election and taken down the day after the election ends

  1. Stop by the Circulation Desk (Plaza Level) or the Reference Desk (Main Level) and let the student or staff member know you need a sign approved.

  1. To be approved, each sign must have the:

  • Name of the TU club or TU organization

  • Date and time of the event

  • Location of the event

  • Contact information or link for the group or organization

  • No larger than 11x14

  • Event description (preferred, but not required)

  1. Once approved, signs may only be hung on approved bulletin boards in the library:

  • Four (4) sign maximum, one (1) per board on the Main Level of the library (down by the Browsing Level) and one (1) per board on the Plaza Level, across from Starbucks

  • Signs must be removed after the event. If there is no specific date, flyers may be removed at the end of each semester.

  1. Signs may not be taped on doors at the library. This space is reserved for library specific postings.

  1. Signs may no longer be placed on tables.

Additional Information

  • Only the flyers with the approved “McFarlin Library” stamp may be displayed on the library's bulletin boards.

  • The small, framed bulletin boards in the lobby of McFarlin are for University postings only.

  • Other flyers posted around the library will be removed and discarded. The exceptions will be McFarlin/Starbucks postings and the flyers that come from the President’s or Provost’s office.
